METHOD & BOUNDARIES

What the estimate means.

This is a transparent planning model. It separates driving energy from charging losses, then tests whether the connected window and infrastructure can restore the target SOC.

01

Distance to discharge

Planning km/kWh = (certified range ÷ battery kWh) × range factor

Certified cycles are labelled and not treated as guaranteed real-world range.

02

Battery to wall

Wall kWh = battery discharge ÷ charge efficiency

Losses are explicit. A 90% efficiency means the meter supplies more energy than reaches the battery.

03

Schedule to cost

Interval cost = charging kWh × applicable retail rate

Power is clipped by the EV, charger count, charger rating, site limit and departure deadline.

Planning limitations

No battery degradation curve, temperature model, auxiliary/preconditioning load, demand charge, tax, solar generation, export credit, DC taper curve or network charge is modelled. Confirm vehicle specifications, tariff rules and electrical capacity before making an investment decision.
